|5th December, "Global Volunteer Day", Volunteering in the midst of Crisis|
For 30 years, ARCHELON is receiving the help of thousands of volunteers to protect the sea turtle. Every summer, from 1983 until today, 500 people from around the world, are taking part in projects of ARCHELON in order to protect the sea turtles during their nesting season (May to October). The sea turtles of Zakynthos, Peloponnese, Crete and the Sea Turtle Rescue Centre every year receive the care of young and older people who, with a great deal of excitement, provide their knowledge and their work for this purpose.
