Each year, almost 500 volunteers from all around the world join ARCHELON’ forces to protect the main nesting areas for the Caretta carretta sea turtles over a period of time lasting from May to October. These are the field work volunteers.
Each year, almost 200.000 people of all ages request information about the sea turtles and visit our Information Stations and the Rescue Center in Glyfada. Many others meet us at the exhibitions or events that ARCHELON takes part, where they get information from volunteers. These are the communication volunteers.
The communication volunteers dedicate a small part of their time making a significant contribution to the protection of the environment. They work on a variety of issues that could include:
- at the Rescue Center, guiding groups of school students from Monday to Friday or other visitors during the weekend.
- at exhibitions or special public events and outreach campaigns, collaborating and assisting ARCHELON’ s staff to communicate our mission
- at ARCHELON’ s offices (headquarters), offering services related to the communications activities of the organization, sustaining the smooth course of contact with the members and supporters of ARCHELON.
The Communication Volunteers’ Team needs the support of many engaging and enthusiastic people, regardless of age.
Join the Communication Volunteers’ Team!
