03/10/2012
The Environmental team of our primary school has been created this year and its main issue is about the sea turtle. The ultimate goal of the school "club" is active participation and action. The meetings at school give children initiative and take them out of the confines of the classroom: the "Turtle Club" creates an innovative collaboration with ARCHELON and introduces the program "Young Volunteers in Action".

The return of the Caretta Caretta Sea Turtle named Louiza, to the Cretan Sea
01/10/2012
“Louiza” was released from the Adelianos Kampos beach in Rethymno (Crete), in front of the “Aquila Rithymna Beach hotel which had addopted the turtle by sponsoring its medical care. For its return to the Cretan Sea, an event was organized by its adopters at the hotel, giving an amazing environmental and educational lesson to the 400 tourists and bathers who were there and “shared” the beaches of Rethymno with Sea Turtles when the last ones came out during summer months to lay their eggs.

When I think back to 2008, when I first heard about ARCHELON, I never could have imagined the journey I would take to get to where I am today. The one thing I have learned above all else is that you must always believe in people and their ability to make a difference in this ever-changing world.

Why are we coming back to ARCHELON every year…
16/08/2012
The motivation of conserving the reproductive environment of the loggerhead sea turtle remains strong but no lies here, someone must have found more things that keep him coming back to ARCHELON for 6 years and make him have the same enthusiasm with the first time. So, why are we coming back every year?

It has been so many years that ARCHELON operates as a hosting organisation of EVS (European Voluntary Service). The combination of excitement and experience makes the EVS volunteers great supporters of ARCHELONs work. We would like to present now the EVS volunteers currently hosted to the Sea Turtle Rescue Center. Three amazing girls from Estonia, Ireland and Sweden. It is great to share their stories with us.
