Support-Sponsorships
Our Sponsors
ARCHELON is a non-profit and non-governmental
organisation. All funds raised are used exclusively to implement
sea turtle conservation projects, which focus mainly on research,
protection, management, public awareness, environmental education
and lobbying. Over the course of time small businesses or
large cooperates from the public or private sector have supported
ARCHELON's work. Their vested inertest in nature conservation
is a warrant for more achievements in the field of sea turtle
conservation in the Mediterranean.
Become a sponsor
Over the past 27 years, the support we have
received from responsible small or big companies has been
a great boost to our work. Sponsorships in the form of either
money or in kind have allowed us to carry out projects for
the benefit of sea turtles and the natural environment in
general.
In 2012, we have set the following priorities
to which any kind contribution can make a difference:
- Create access, touring and voluntary
work facilities for people with disabilities at the
Sea Turtle Rescue Centre in Glyfada
- Supply of medical and paramedical
material for the Rescue Centre.
- Purchase of
2 cars for transporting the researchers of the Association
during the programs of recording and protection of
nests of Caretta, in the nesting areas.
- Purchase of
5 laptop computers for equipping field programs in
Zakynthos, Peloponnese and Crete.
- Purchase of
2 video projectors, for the needs of the environmental
education programs and public awareness.
- Purchase of 4
satellite transmitters to track the movements of turtle
nesting in Greece, with a view to uncover the unknown
aspects of their lives and reduce the mortality of
turtles in the sea.
- Create a series of new publications
and re-editions of information material, which will
be available for updating the Greek and foreign visitors
on all activity areas
of ARCHELON.
- In particular:
- Bilingual booklets for the Rescue
Center, Crete, Peloponnese and Zakynthos
