It has been 13 years since 17 organizations, including ARCHELON, signed the "Accountability Charter of Non-Governmental Organizations" until today when we co-signed the Joint Declaration of 287 Civil Society Organizations on the draft law of the Ministry of Interior. See more

Thines Kyparissias (the Kyparissia sand dunes) is the Natura 2000 site with the highest number of loggerhead nests in Greece. The dedicated volunteers and field leaders, who carried out the monitoring and protection of the nests in this area, as well as in the rest of Kyparissia Bay, deserve a big thank you. Twenty students, from grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 participated in this educational tour among other visits at places of special importance in Greece. We felt honored when we heard that they arrived to us directly from the airport!

This summer was another period of intensive effort, which brought the monitoring of the nesting of the loggerhead sea turtles in Greece to 38 consecutive years. We gathered together to celebrate the successful completion of the field projects of ARCHELON for 2021 at Kokotos estate in Attica.
 

Due to a happy circumstance, #turtlechallenge3 with the idea of a video for the Recsue Centre was realized! Screenwriters, actors, sound engineers, cameramen and assistant directors of the film were the youngsters of the 3rd High School of Argyroupolis themselves. See more

The news that Kostas Bouyouris passed away unexpectedly, at the age of 56, brought great sadness to all those who knew him as a member of ARCHELON. Memories from the first years of our common path, when he was still studying agriculture, started flowing effortlessly.

The number of arrivals of injured or sick sea turtles at the ARCHELON Rescue Center has increased significantly this summer, a fact that has put a lot of pressure on the small group that takes care of the animals. That's why we need Rehabilitation Assistants.
